Scott Johnstone bought one of our 1932 frame kits to build a highboy roadster. We delivered the kit to Scott while on one of our trips to the Traverse City area a few years ago. Scott has finished the highboy and has been collecting awards for his efforts at numerous car shows. Here are some of the aspects of this fine roadster. The body is a Brookeville. Engine and trans are 350/350 with a 9 inch Ford rear end. Pete & Jakes components make up the front and rear suspensions including, Super Bell aluminum I beam axle, ladder bars and hairpins. Stainless exhaust routes the spent gases. Color matching steel wheels and skinny treads give the car its unique stance. Scott made several modifications such as reversed bear claw latches, made the seat and body trim panels. The stainless trim on the panels were another item fabricated by Scott. Scott is employed at Rod Tops and utilized one of their tops to fit the chopped windshield. Classic Instruments supplied the gauges, and a Lokar shifter handles the trans. John Wagner of Time Machines handled the interior and top finishing touches. Be sure and check out the pictures in the gallery section of our site.
