Kingpin Angle Indicator Tool

The Kingpin Angle Indicator Tool will let you accurately check the kingpin bore angles of any I-beam or tube axle. To correctly set the caster of your front suspension you should be setting the caster angle by the kingpin bores, not the top of the kingpin bosses. The tool simply slips into the kingpin bore of the front axle and you use a magnetic base angle indicator to read the angel of the bore. You can also use a digital angle indicator by holding it on the flat section of the tool. The caster angle in the front suspension influences directional control of the vehicle. The correct positive caster angle will let the front wheels and steering wheel return to a straight-ahead position after a turn. The incorrect caster angle will cause the car to wander and you will be fighting the steering wheel during turns. This tool should be in every rod builder’s toolbox for setting up that dropped axle front end.
